A charming 1940s fur clip pair of a bagpiper and Highland dancer from Coro!

This highly collectible set of fur clips are so full of vintage charm! Handpainted enamel and clear crystal rhinestones decorate this pair of characters which are made of rhodium-plated base metal. These are fur clips so they have a two-pronged attachment on the back, which was designed to stick to heavy fabrics, such as fur. It's so rare to find the pair together like this in such great condition!

Although this couple is unsigned, this exact design was patented in 1941 by Gene Verrecchio as a chatelaine for Coro's World War 2 Allies collection. There is no evidence of a chatelaine online, leading me to wonder if it was ever actually produced as one. All examples found are in fur clip form and unsigned such as these.

A lovely vintage treasure in excellent condition!

*This is a vintage preowned item.
