Description
What a cheery, and fun vintage bird chatelaine!
These two birds are painted in brightly colored enamel paint. Their main colors are yellow, green, and red and they have clear, green, and red rhinestone accents. They appear to be plated in gold. The type of bird is uncertain. Perhaps they are cockatiels or cockatoos. One has tall head feathers while the other’s point back. Perhaps this is a male and female pair? It’s uncertain if they were originally sold as a chatelaine because the chain is merely fed through the pins on the back. It’s possible that these were sold as individual pins and the chain was added later. The chain would be easy to remove if you wish to do so. A really sweet vintage pair! 1940’s.
Size: 1 5/8″ long
Condition: The enamel is excellent with very little wear as is the gold plate.
