Matisse

Matisse was founded by sculptor Jerry Fels in 1952 and is known for its use of copper with enamel. The designer took inspiration from the Arts and Crafts era in which copper was a popular medium. Matisse jewelry was worn by film stars of the day such as Lana Turner who likely appreciated the sculptor-turned-jewelry-designer’s artistic talents. The company ceased production in 1964.
